1. I think Hawthorne’s purpose was to give us a lesson about to not judge people by looks because they can me the whole opposite of what we think .
2. Yes it fit her because he would always think about her and every time they would mention her pink ribbons would pop out .
3. I think the pink ribbons signify young Goodman’s wife .
4. I think it was a dream because somewhere in the story talks about him waking up in the village .
5. The old man was the devil because he had a serpent staff.
6. The staff represents a snake .
7. Maybe he wouldn’t have looked at faith differently and not lose his faith .
